School Days

Leah's birthday was also the first day of school for Abby and Brynn had kindergarten orientation. Brynn's first day of school was the next day. Brynn was so excited to go to school she was up at 6:00, she comes into my room all dressed and ready to go! Abby and Brynn both ride the bus to school. The bus stop is at the top of our street (It is so awesome!) Kindergarten is just half day here so they come home separately. When Brynn came home after her first day she told me it was too short and she wanted to go back and stay longer. Her teacher seems very nice her name is Mrs. Monson. I got a little emotional when she got on the bus and it pulled away. She's now starting to have her own experiences. I know she will do great! Abby loves her teacher. She is also excited to have a locker and says she doesn't play during recess, she just hangs out and talks. She is growing up fast, loves school, and has made some friends in our neighborhood already.

Leah's Birthday

Leah's birthday was this past week. We opened her presents in the morning. That evening her meal request was chicken nuggets, fries, corn on the cob, watermelon, and water. Of course we had to have cake and ice cream too. Check out her cake. She couldn't wait to eat it. She began asking for a piece as soon as I took it out of the oven. By the way, somehow she found the number 4 candle and added it to her cake. I hope she had a fun day. We love you Leah. Thanks for keeping us on our toes!

Our Pets

It was a rainy day and the girls were playing in the basement when I heard the cry "Mom come here." I have to admit I was a little nervous when they told me there were frogs in the basement. I am not one who loves to touch animals, let alone something that I think is slimy. I head downstairs with dread but was spared the experience when I realized they were looking at frogs that were in our window well. There were about 5 frogs sitting down there and the girls had a great view of them through the window. I thought it was perfect, I didn't have to touch them and they could still see them. The window well is at least 2 1/2 feet deep so there is no way these frogs can jump out. They get some of the neighbor boys to come fish out the frogs with a net and put them in our little wading pool. I was surprised at how easily Brynn would pick up the frogs, Abby was more hesitant. Leah only liked them from a distance. They have all left our wading pool now so we are back to Leah asking us if we can get a dog. (The answer to that is no.)

Yard Work

First Impressions

Well we made the move, most of our boxes are unpacked and we are beginning to feel settled in. As you know when you move there are lost of first impressions happening. Let me share a few. I took all the girls with me to go register Abby and Brynn for school. Their new school seems really nice. Brynn is so excited to be going to kindergarten and Abby is anxious to meet new friends. While we were there getting all the paper work, Shea starts to cry, so I get her out of her carseat, we were about to leave when we noticed pictures of the faculty up so we stopped to look at them. Then the principal comes out and introduces herself and offers to show us around the school we start to follow when Shea explodes. Yes that's right an explosion occurs all over her clothes, my hands and yes even my clothes. Abby and Brynn went on with the principal themselves. I changed Shea but of course I have no change of clothes for me, so I got to talk with the principal with poop all over my shirt and pants. It was pretty good.

We were all excited to go to our new ward. The members were friendly and it seemed like there were quite a few children in the ward. But I couldn't tell you a thing about Sacrament Meeting because I was in and out of the chapel 3 times. Now that's a great first impression. I had to take the girls to the bathroom before the meeting started, but didn't get back before it had already started. Then Leah has to go right before the sacrament. When I get back with her, I sit down for really 2 minutes and have to take Shea out...along with Leah who was sitting in my lap and refused to move in order to get her way.

We are all enjoying our new home and allowing lots of opportunities for child labor.
